Top Ten Fitness Tips

  1. Always start with realistic goals
  2. Focus on feeling good instead of watching the bathroom scales
  3. Treat the body with respect, abuse it & it will complain with pain
  4. Train with a buddy where possible for that extra encouragement
  5. Try to eat healthily as much as you can
  6. Enjoy eating those high calorie foods but always in moderation
  7. Aim to get the heart pumping faster for 20 minutes 3 – 4 times per week
  8. Exercise in a way that supports your day-to-day movements – ‘Functional Training’ stretching up, bending down, pushing & pulling
  9. Wear suitable clothing for the exercise you do, trainers especially important if running
  10. If thinking of joining a gym, shop around, look at the facilities, ask for a trial session, look at the qualifications of the Instructor's & consider the costs
